"Oh a day that was Ooh that's the way it goes There's a million ways- to get things done There's a million ways- to make things work out." - Talking Heads "What a Day That Was" [Album: Stop Making Sense]
Using terms to find files with the RShiny App and experimenting with the Stardog Similarity Model provides a mere glimpses into what can be accomplished with a Knowledge Graph. I embarked on this project with the goals of:
- Applying Knowledge Graph concepts to solve a practical problem without building an "Enterprise" solution or expertise in Linked Data.
- Improving my Knowledge Graph, R, and web publishing skills.
- Building something I can use: a searchable Code Catalog/Inventory system.
I have met these goals but the work is not yet done. There is still much to learn. The inventory itself will improve over time, with refinements to how files are described in their headers and updates to keyword and bigram identification. It is now much easier to find code and I was able to delete many redundant files. Consistency in documentation continues to increase. I also learned that I am a poor speller and borderline dyslexic when I rush my code documentation.
I hope you found this documentation helpful when thinking about how you may wish to approach your own personal, practical, Knowledge Graph journey. Please share your thoughts with me using the contact information on the home page.

I would like to thank my friends David Iberson-Hurst and Johannes Ulander at data4knowledge ApS for their review and comments, as well as my colleague Ben Dray.
A special thank you to my wife Janet for improving my grammar and her patience reviewing these pages. “I do not understand the code but I assume your nerd friends will get it !” 🤍
