3. Project Catalog

"I can't tell one from another
Did I find you, or you find me?""
- Talking Heads "This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)" [Album: Speaking in Tongues]

Introduction

The file catalog report is not built from the Knowledge Graph. The goal of this part of the project is to demonstrate how dynamic reporting tables are constructed with RMarkdown and the similarity of these reports to later reports generated from graph data.

RMarkdown Templates for Consistent Reporting

Consistency in reporting is assured by using RMarkdown templates across file catalogs for multiple projects. These templates are populated with values in R dataframes extracted by the folder processing code as described on the next page. Templates are rendered into HTML within the /fileCatReport folder at the root of each processed structure.

The RMarkdown template consists of a series of collapsible tables created using the R reactable package. These collapsible tables allow navigation from the top of the project down to the information about individual files, with data collected as described in the next section.
